Who We Are
Cheestick Dog Chew is a Kathmandu-based dog chew exporter from Nepal. We have been exporting dog chews made of cow and yak milk since 2017. Our products are sourced directly from farmers in villages of eastern Nepal. We offer dog chews in its raw form, collected directly from the people who manufacture them.
Cheestick Dog Chew is made with milk from grass-fed, free range grazing cows. We offer chhurpi in its raw form, directly sourced from the people who make them in their humble factories. Our team ensures strict quality control and quality assessment to ensure that our products are of the finest quality.
As one of the longest standing suppliers of chhurpi in Nepal, we have been exporting our products to over 8 countries, namely the USA, Canada, China, Russia, Thailand, Singapore, Finland and the Philippines. We are looking forward to expanding our business to new destinations around the world.
Cheestick Dog Chews are made from a traditional recipe for chhurpi. A chhurpi is a type of hard cheese made in the Himalayan regions of Nepal and Tibet. It is typically made from nak (female yak) milk or milk from the himalayan cow. An all natural snack, it is made using only three ingredients: milk, salt and lime juice. Stored in the right conditions, a chhurpi can last for up to 20 years without spoiling! Typically eaten by humans, our chhurpis have been adapted as a long-lasting snack chew for dogs.
This chhurpi making process has been passed down through generations of mountain settlers, high in the Himalayan range. The hard consistency of the chhurpi preserves its natural flavour and nutritional value without letting it spoil.
These nutritious snacks have been a popular food to enjoy by the people and their loyal canine friends for decades while herding, working in the fields or traveling. Cheestick Dog Chew seeks to adapt these nutritious snacks for dogs all around the world, for every furry friend to enjoy. Unlike regular chhurpi, our dog chews are manufactured by keeping our four-legged family in mind. Thus, Cheestick Dog Chew contains less fat compared to the chhurpis created for human consumption.

How It Began
Like all good stories, our story also begins with an adventure: high up in the mountains.
Our co-founders who are passionate about promoting Nepalese products globally, set out to find unique products that could be traded in the global market. Their search led to far and remote corners of the country. And in one such trip, they met the group of farmers producing Chhurpi in eastern Nepal. They really loved it and were moved by the dedication and hardwork of the farmers living in such harsh conditions. It dawned on them that the chhurpi found in this region was far superior to what was available in the cities.
And so, research led to exploring business opportunities and scope for the farmers to elevate their product and manufacture them as dog chew. Likewise, the infrastructure and facilities grew and so did the inventory.
What started as a small business with a few orders has now expanded to manufacturing thousands of dog chews with exports to more than 8 countries.
Uplifting the Community With Dog Chews
Cheestick Dog Chew works directly with farmers in eastern Nepal to help alleviate their standard of living. They have been provided with necessary training to improve the quality of their production. Along with this, they have also been provided with training on packaging and labeling for export of dog chews from Nepal.
Cheestick Dog Chew has supported farmers by alleviating the farming practices with the help of technology and communication tools. Overall, their manufacturing capacity has grown along with their standard of living.
